Tedhighway gives his take on Episode 3 of Survivor: All-Stars.

There was no immunity challenge, tribal council, or booted castaway this week. Amazon winner Jenna Morasca left the game voluntarily in order too be with her mother whom was very ill. It was obvious that Jenna was having quite a hard time being in Panama and competing while still thinking of her mother. You may question her motives for even going in the first place if her mother was was fighting cancer, but we weren't in her shoes.
We really don't know the whole story and I don't believe we should easily throw judgment on someone in this situation. She realized her mistake for coming out to play the game again and now she regrets it. End of story. That is all I need to say here. I'm glad she got to be with her mother as she lost her battle with cancer eight days after Jenna left. I cannot begin to imagine not being with my mother if she were in the same position. It would be the worst decision of my life and I would have to deal with it for as long as I lived. Luckily, Jenna was not put in this position. I may have questioned her attitude and even the reason she won in the Amazon, but this is real life, and my sympathies go out to her. I was shocked with some people's attitudes as Jenna announced her decision at the immunity challenge.
Alicia acted particular unsensitive as she continued to harp over and over that she would not have even come, as if she was almost talking down to Jenna. It was unbelievably rude and totally uncalled for. Jenna realized her mistake and there was absolutely no need to make her feel even worse. Rupert and Big Tom spoke honestly. Rupert said he wouldn't quit and he would finish the game, while Tom even went on to say if his family all died in a car crash that he wouldn't want to be told because he made a commitment and he would finish playing the game.
Some may call these statements harsh, but I think they were just being honest and stating what they would do. They did offer their condolences to Jenna and their statements came off as very different than Alicia's, even though they sounded cruel. What do I know, it's just my opinion. Also, in one of the funniest moments in "Survivor" history, Richard was bitten by a shark, and as a defense, he bit it back. If that doesn't qualify as one of the greatest moments in the show's history, then I don't know what does.
THE HIGHWAY COUNTDOWN
1. Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien - Kathy gets the top spot for the second week in a row. She is maintaining her position and her attitude with the Jenna situation can only help her.
2. Lex van den Berghe - Lex moves up two spots this week. He proved on this episode that he holds sway over the tribe and he is offered respect in return.
3. Amber Brkich - Amber moves down one spot. She is still flying low and remaining somewhat hidden among all the big boys.
4. Tom Buchanon - Tom moves up three spots. He has obviously found his niche as the tribe entertainment and he visually seems to have some allies. His small argument with Sue shouldn't hurt him.
5. Colby Donaldson - Colby moves down two spots. Colby and Lex remain in the same position, but I do not believe he has the girls' respect quite as much as Lex does.
6. Jenna Lewis - Jenna moves up three spots. She kept to the background in her tribe this week and others have made themselves targets.
7. Shii Ann Huang - Shii Ann moves down one spot this week. She doesn't seem to be a target whatsoever, but her attitude could end up being her undoing.
8. Rob Mariano - Rob stays at eight this week. His leadership displayed in the reward challenge victory can only help him, but his mouth could still come back to bite him.
9. Alicia Caloway - Alicia moves up two spots. The tribe needs her strength right now despite her attitude.
10. Richard Hatch - Rich moves up five spots this week thanks to a fine performance. He is now the tribe's source for food, and that is a big help to his progress.
11. Rupert Boneham - Rupert tumbles down six slots. His mistake at the reward challenge this week is not a good thing. He could easily go on the chopping block now.
12. Jerri Manthey - Jerri stays at twelve this week. She ended up being correct in her argument with Rupert, but she still has a tough reputation to overcome.
13. Ethan Zohn - Ethan remains a target on a tribe that picks off winners.
14. Rob Cesternino - Rob falls four spots this week. The tribe isn't thinking highly of Rob's working habits.
15. Susan Hawk - Once again, Sue gets the last slot. She is still an outsider and it's going to take a miracle to dig out of the hole she has managed to get herself into.
