Episode 1: "Islands of Fire"
The castaways take part in a tribal ritual, and search for their camps. At the first challenge, the Lopevi (men) and Yasur (women) tribes competed for a fire making tool and tribal immunity. "Thirty-nine days, eighteen new castaways, two tribes separated by gender and one tumultuous ring of fire. SURVIVOR: VANUATU--ISLANDS OF FIRE has begun. On night three, the newly formed Lopevi tribe was forced to make their first dreaded trek to Tribal Council, where they voted out Brook Geraghty, the 27-year-old project manager from Winthrop, Massachusetts, in a shocking decision. Jeff says that its time to start the game and since they have been separated into groups of men and women they will stay that way..." - The Trades
"The fix is in as the first challenge (for both immunity and flint) rolls around. It's an obstacle course that begins with challenges of speed and wits and features a balance beam. Now if I learned anything from seventh grade gym (and I know I didn't) or perhaps from "Survivor: Amazon" (I learned more than I care to admit) it's that men and balance beams aren't great tastes that go great together..." - Zap2it.com
