The young actor who played Harry Potter could be on tap to play Shinji Ikari in the live action Neon Genesis Evangelion film.

According to information I recently received from an anonymous source; English actor Daniel Radcliffe, perhaps better known for his role as Harry Potter, may be heavily considered to play Shinji Ikari in the live action Neon Genesis Evangelion movie, currently in the very early stages of development. It is very highly possible that this information could in-fact be false, so I urge you to take this information with a little more than just a grain of salt.

It has been reported that the live action EVA's budget could total more than $100 million, and the FX will be handled by WETA, the same people behind the colossal special effects featured in the 'Lord of The Rings' trilogy. According to Anime Tourist The movie will be shot partially on location in New Zealand and will feature an international cast. They also say that the live action EVA will not be a prequel or sequel to the anime, but a "new retelling of the story in a feature format."

It should be noted that more announcements could possibly be expected at this years Comic Con in San Diego. We'll keep you updated as soon as we learn any new details about this project.
